That time of the year again... The Warracknabeal Rodeo... Have not long arrived back home, bathed three very grumpy kids and they are just unwinding watching a Madagascar while replenishing their fluids... Was hot there today..
I wouldn't normally be a person to attend a Rodeo, but it is a big social event here and great for our little country town... The girls love it... They talk to the cowboys, pat the bulls and horses, generally a great day out!
Jack was helping out with a shearing competition and he won $10 in the feral ute comp for the work ute division.. (Elders will be proud ... he he he) and he is still there.. won't be long and he will be home.
I was starving by the time i got home, there was only crap to eat there and I wasn't going to blow a entire weeks work on a fatty, tasteless fast food crap... so I am now eating carrots and celery with Tzatziki dip with a light beer..
Goal Weight???????? I have a question.. how did you set your goal?? Was it a weight that you once was? Did your WW leader set it for you??? I have never officially set my goal weight! I guess my ideal weight would be 68 and the only reason I have this figure in my mind is that I can remember being 69kg's and I would like to say that I am the lightest that I have ever been... Is that wrong?? My WW guide tells me that 71kg is ok for my height, should I set that as my goal and if I get lower, i get lower?? Some feedback would be great..
Anyway, best get my babies to bed.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend..

I didn't actually join a WW meeting, I've just been following the program on my own at home, with support from a friend who actually didi attend meetings. When I thought about setting my goal weight, I looked at the WW healthy weight range for my height (175cm) which was 61-76kg. Because I was well over 100kg when I started, I decided I would aim for 76kg and then reassess from there. I'm thinking anywhere between 70 and 76 would be ideal for me. I have been lighter than that but that's not really my concern anymore - it's no longer about being light, it's about being healthy, fitting into nice clothes and feeling great and positive about myself. Maybe give yourself a ballpark number and then reassess once you get there. As long as you're within the healthy weight range for your height I think that's the main thing. It depends how comfortable you feel with yourself.
Good on you for resisting rodeo food and coming home to a healthy snack!
Hope you've had a great weekend :)
Hello, found your blog via links on Philippas. Love your work... funny thing is, i come from country victoria too (near Ballarat). Im living in Cairns at the moment. AND I went to a bull riding comp 2 weeks ago in Atherton. Never thought I was a rodeo/bullriding type of gal, however I was "whopping and hollering" with the best of them. Well done on your weight loss so far anyway, great work! Set your goal weight at soemthing you can easily achieve (eg 71kg) when you get there, if you still think you need to then you can reassess. Good luck!
My comment is pretty much the same as Philippa's and as we are the same height our goals would be similar. I picked 68 as it is the middle of the range but if you are going to ww officially I would choose the higher end of the scale, then aim for a couple of kgs lower if, when you get there, you feel that would make you the most comfortable. That way it is easier to maintain your lifetime membership status.
Your rodeo sounds like it was a lot of fun, and well done to you for going home to eat. That is dedication :)
We have had a rodeo at our local show for the last 3 years - My family really enjoy it!!
I don't go to WW - the group I go to send you to your doctor and the doc writes down a goal weight on a medical cert.
Have to agree with the comments of the others. WW set my goal weight when I first joined at 66kg in 2000. I managed to get down to 67kg and just couldn't budge that last kilo. As I was feeling very happy with how I looked I asked them to make 67 my goal weight which they very begrudgingly did. Now I wish I had made my goal at maybe 68 or 69 as it would have saved me some money and given me a few more kilos to play around with.
I really felt like they wanted the weight to be lower because then I would have to pay for longer and I didn't enjoy that feeling. While I realise it is a business - I don't think that whether they will make more money out of you should come into it. I am nearly 2kilos below my goal and would like to lose a couple more - am just not motivated enough to do much more than maintain. Once I can get some exercise happening I am sure that will help.
Anyway, take care and have a great week !
