Firstly... thanks for the soup idea... drooling thinking about my next pot!!! Thanks girls...
I am only about 5 months from receiving my GOLD lifetime membership to Weight Watchers... (For those of you that are WW Gals that means you have been at or below your goal weight for 2 years...)
But
They are closing our WW meetings in Warracknabeal... **sigh**
They need at least 15 paying members to keep the meeting going and over winter the numbers have slowly dwindled away. WW has been going in Warracknabeal FOREVER.. (well it seems that long anyway)
Hopefully, once people get a little more motivated in the warmer weather they might get it going again, but not sure. Ros, our ww leader lost her son in a car accident almost a year ago (he was only 9 years old..) so I feel for her. It was a real outlet for Ros as well.
So, I think I will find a meeting in Horsham to weigh in monthly... gotten this far.
In other breaking news, a friend and I are in the throws of organising a kids fitness program for kids 4 to 8 at our leisure centre. Most organised sporting activities are for kids 8 +.... This way kids get to get out and have fun and learn the benefits of being activie early. The school and kindas push the healthy eating program, so this follows on from that. We will rotate the kids sport to give them a go at a heap of sports. The first 4 weeks will be soccer, then Hockey. Both sports have a little kids version. Very excited about it and hope we get the support from the community. We will start next term, so planning in full swing!

The sports programme sounds great! Good on you and your friend for making it happen rather than, in a few years, bemoaning the fact that either your kids didn't have that as an opportunity, or that someone else has since made a packet out of it.
As a toddler I lived in town and went to Gymbaroo, but growing up in the country I was immersed in sport via my parents playing it. Every summer Saturday arvo was spent hanging off the fence at the tennis courts (or chasing cows in the paddock next it them) waiting not so patiently for an adult to give me a hit. I got into netball via a friend's mum. With all the travel involved in a H&A season it was the done thing for kids to follow on with what their parents played. Does this still happen in the country?
Our school does something simular 2 nights a week - the kids love it and so do the parents as it is for free!!
The kids also get a healthy snack in the middle:)
WoW 2 years at goal!! thats awesome!!
I love the sound of your activity program for kids, I hope its a real goer, and everyone gets in behind you!!
Why don't you guys advertise the WW around the community to try and boost numbers?? Sports programme sounds really great. Good on you for doing instead of saying.
Why do you need to keep going to WW if you've been at your goal weight for so long?
OMG that was nearly a year ago? It doesn't seem that long. Is she coping okay?
Love your idea for the kids. Wish I could send you some of the excess water we have up here right now.
